INARU COLLECTIVE

The INARU Collective is a screen printing initiative, based in Grand Bahama.

We aim to re-ignite a passion for handcrafted products across The Bahamas.

We offer workshops to train young Bahamians to screen print, as well as workshops for children and adults who are interested in the craft.

About

01 about

The INARU Collective was established in 2021 by Marie-Louise Hayward, a screenprint artist with a background in Psychotherapy.

After the catastrophic Hurricane Dorian in 2019 she became an active member of the NGO community, teaching resilience skills to young people who had lost their communities in East Grand Bahama.  Recognizing the need to inspire and re-ignite an interest in hand crafted goods, she became passionate about using screen printing as a way to engage 'hard to reach' young Bahamians.  She set up the 'Island Workshop' as a way of training young Bahamians to screen print and sew, using only sustainable materials.

The INARU Collective became a founder member of The Blue Action Lab, a social enterprise set up to accelerate Blue and Green innovation amongst coastal communities.
